Robins look to maintain momentum at Whitehawk
Carshalton Athletic travel to the South coast to face Whitehawk on Saturday 6th April (3pm kick off).
After Saturday’s 3-0 win against Dulwich Hamlet in which Bunmi Babajide claimed his 20th goal of the season and Mason Saunders-Henry opened his scoring account for the club, the Robins are still in the thick of the end of season dash for playoff places. However, they are relying on teams above them slipping up while needing to pick up points to take advantage. The cause was not helped by all the teams that were placed 2nd to 9th before the Easter Monday fixtures all winning, except Dulwich.
So, the Robins will be gunning for maximum points at Whitehawk to keep the pressure on and aiming to continue a run that has seen them lose just twice since the turn of the year and take 15 points out of the last possible 18.
Saturday’s opponents won’t make it easy for them after consolidating a place in the Isthmian League Premier Division following promotion last season. They currently sit 15th in the division but comfortably clear of any relegation worries and with a chance to move up if they win games in hand.
After a couple of recent losses, they took a creditable point at Lewes last time out, with top scorer Charlie Walker on target to take his total to 20 for the season. Walker it was who opened the scoring when the teams met at Colston Avenue in December but goals from Brad Williams and Danny Bassett gave the Robins a 2-1 win.
