200 watch Robins on the receiving end
Sunday 21st July CAFC Women 0 – QPR Women 7
Carshalton Women were possibly a little too brave today, taking on QPR (from three tiers higher) with just 270 minutes of CAFC match experience under their belts.
QPR were clearly the better team, but to be fair to the Robins, the 7-0 score line wasn’t fair reflection of the game with four of those goals coming from unforced individual errors in the 18 yard box. Its also true that the girls never gave up and played with heart and passion till the last minute of the game.
Getting a bloody-nose at this stage of pre-season maybe just what the new Women’s team need to strengthen their resolve for when the results matter in a few weeks time.
Nearly 200 turned up to to Colston Avenue today – that’s more than some friendlies in the Isthmian – watching the girls on a Sunday afternoon is becoming very popular.
Free admission for all and the Kitchen and Bar Open it makes for a great afternoon out.
