CAFC vs Potters Bar Town FC – Match Preview
Carshalton Athletic take on Potters Bar Town in the Isthmian Premier on Monday evening.
Carshalton Athletic
The Robins sealed a 1-1 draw with Bognor Regis at Nyewood Lane on Saturday thanks to Tommy Bradford tapping home a David Smith cross in a much-improved second half. The result moved Carshalton into seventh place in the Isthmian Premier on 20 points, six off the play-off places.
Potters Bar Town
Potters Bar Town languish in ninth place on 20 points in the Isthmian Premier Division following a heavy 4-0 defeat to Cray Wanderers on Saturday. It was a fantastic start to the 2024-25 campaign for the Scholars, who made headlines by running out 8-0 winners over Dover Athletic in their curtain raiser. Victories against Dartford and Wingate & Finchley would follow in August with their only defeat in the league Horsham, losing 3-2. Growing in confidence, September proved much of the same, they edged Bowers and Pitsea 1-0, thumped Lewes 5-0, but had their momentum disrupted after a 2-0 Whitehawk loss. October ensued and began similarly, beating Cheshunt 1-0 before securing a hard-fought 2-2 stalemate with Chatham Town. However, it has been a November to forget, the Scholars impressive start to the season has been undone by a recent poor run of form. Dover enacted their revenge at the beginning of the month, Dartford further frustrated in a 1-1 draw, Dulwich Hamlet overcame the Potters comfortably 3-1, while Cray prevented embarrassment in the reverse fixture, winning 4-0. That is now five games without a win for the Hertfordshire-based club.

The Gaffer

Last season, the young coach guided the Potters to a respectable 15th-place finish on 51 points, 12 above the drop zone.
