Points shared in six-goal costal caper

Carshalton Athletic extended their unbeaten streak against Folkestone Invicta to 10 games as Bunmi Babajide’s second goal of the game late on levelled the score at 3-3 on the Kent coast on Saturday.

A frenetic opening saw four goals in the first 20 minutes, Seidu Sanogo putting the hosts in front after just nine minutes from an Edward Allsopp cross. Within two minutes, however, Babajide had brought the Robins back on level terms.

And a matter of minutes later, the Robins were in front, Luke Read popping up from the back for his second goal in consecutive games and his third in the last five. Once again though the advantage was short lived as former Cray Wanderers striker Tom Derry found the bottom corner.

But that wasn’t the end of the first half scoring as Derry once again got on the end of a cross to put Invicta in front at the break.

A much tighter second half saw the Robins grab an equalizer with just over 10 minutes remaining, Babajide once more being in the right place to claim his fifteenth goal of the season.
Despite extending their unbeaten run to five games, and with 17 points from the last 24, the Robins dropped one place to ninth as a result of a win for Lewes – the side they face on Tuesday night.
